You can buy Sheep or Calf leather, or Goat Leather which will cost you a $100 bill. If that's the leather you want, look elsewhere. This product is excellent made, which I did not expect at the price paid.I personally cared less if it was Vinyl or Leather, but decided for the $2.00 extra bucks in cost, I'll buy this one. And am very happily satisfied.I have a 41 year old vinyl business card holder I got for free in the late 60's. Stuff like this was given away free then with a companies logo. So decent vinyl will last also. It holds the same amount of cards (120).This Leather one weights 11.0 oz. (without cards)The Vinyl one weights 10.0 oz. (with 120 cards).I particularly like the ease in which you can slip cards in-and-out, made possible by increasing the width and length of the card holder by 1/4" wider and 1/2" taller. It gives you that little extra finger space to slip cards easily in and out.The smell of leather: The smell of leather disappears with time and how long a product was in the warehouse before being sold. This is normal with all leather goods. I for one don't hold a wallet, or a belt, or a card holder up to my nose - I'm not that much in love with products I buy. It's not a flower. Leave it out in the sun for a day if your so concerned, it will kill any odder very quickly. In contrary some people love the smell of leather, those are the people that appreciate quality over junk.For the value and price, the quality of stitching, and the overall build, having the consumer in mind not having to fight in replacing cards, and the relative quick shipment, this Card Holder deserves 5 stars.
