I feel that Brooks bedlams are the best walking/running shoes out there. Why brooks makes those other ones, I do not know. This is my 3rd pair of bedlams and I'm looking to buy yet another because of stock and upgrades to other model Brooks is making. Can't miss on this shoe, if they have your size.I ordered the wide sizes because some standard size shoes are narrow for me. I wear between a 12 - 13 in athletic shoes. I chose a size 12.5 wide. The wide size is really room and a little wider than expected. However, it's ok for me because I used them for marathon training and my actual marathon. Also, after hours on my feet from running, my feet swell and it's better for me to have roomy shoes with wide toe box than narrow shoes. These shoes felt great for my marathon until after mile 23. Not sure if it's my fatigue starting to feel overwhelming after mile 23 or what...; but I'm sure most normal people who run 23 miles and more usually don't feel that great anyways. As for stability goes, the shoes are really stable. The guide rails really do help your feet stay in place. My feet pronate inwards and thus, the guide rails are good in stability. It feels like you're on firm springs. Guide rail padding is firm and may take several weeks to fully break them in. These shoes aren't going to be really cushy and soft. They won't feel soft like Skecher's cloud foam shoes or flexible like Nike Frees. It took me about a month to break in these shoes and for them to be comfortable. I used these for marathon training and my runs are 2 - 3 times a week of about 3miles - 8 miles per run. After a month, I felt comfortable to run over 10 mile trainings. After these shoes are broken in they are comfortable for those that stand and walk on their feet for long hours a day.Overall, these are good stability shoes. They look like they're built for long lasting. The cushioning underneath is really padded and good. Except they'll take awhile to break in. Unfortunately after 5 months of training; some parts of the bottom of the shoe started to peel off because I heel strike a lot. However, I mainly use them for walking and light running and they're still ok.I bought the blue Bedlam with green trim. (US 9.5) The picture shows a white midsole. It is not white, it's shiny silver metallic which looks odd. To choose another color of the same shoe in my size, the price was double so I thought by the picture of these they looked ok. I have a foot injury and I kept them but they look a bit juvenile on an older person. They fit fine with orthotics inserted, I sized up a half size. They are fairly comfortable with the factory insole but my orthotics make them even more comfortable. I'd rate the cushioning in the heel as medium. Not bad for the money but not as the picture shows for color. They run a little wide in the toe box but supportive and comfortably snug below the ankle.Excellent showDealing with planters facilities for many years, shoes have become very important to me. So far this is the best shoe I have found to solve the need for proper arch support. Funny things is I had never herd of brooks until recently. I just happened to try some on in a store one day. If you have high arches you will want to take a look at brooks. I ended up buying the Ghosts and the Bedlams. Initially I thought that the Ghosts were more comfortable and would be better for an every day walker however after using both of these Brooks for the last month I have discovered that the Bedlambs are more suited for my feet. We walk at least 3 miles every day and these shoes have offered the perfect amount of support and comfort. The Ghost is a great shoe as well but I think it is lacking in the support that I needed. Maybe it is too soft. These shoes are absolutely without question the most comfortable running shoes I have owned. I have been training for my first 5K and found these on recommendation from a colleague of mine. First I am an 11 1/2 men's and moist running shoes come in 11 and 12 so its size 12 I typically go with and its just not quite right. I didn't know that until I put these on as they have half sizes available and they fit just right. They run about the same price as the top competitor's novice running shoes but you will notice the difference right away. I am not a technical runner so i can't speak to that as I am just getting started running. I will say that when I use the other major brands after a few runs they don't quite feel the same however with these shoes they are very good after 6 months and more. great shoesGreat running shoes, awesome support, kinda heavier, seems very durable. I got the uglier color for allot less but only use them for running. They do run a size larger than most brooks I've bought. These shoes do run a bit narrow, but they break in just fine after 40+ miles. As with any running shoe, we are all not built equal, so research and try to find what works for you (it most likely will never be "love-at-first-sight"). Shoes with 4 -8mm drops are what I use, so these fit my bill. My only concern, however, will be how long the outer soles last. If I can get 500 - 600 miles out of them (3 - 4 months running), I will take that (but only if on sale).I have pronated, flat feet and struggle to find comfortable trainers that offer enough support but not so much that it hurts. The first time I wore these shoes I thought I had failed yet again, my arch HURT and I was not at all comfortable after my run. However I decided tried them again to see if they would wear in, and they did! Since that first time I have had little to no foot discomfort and my running (lets be honest here, slow jogging ;)) form has definitely improved and they are like wearing running slippers they are so comfy. Great for my runs across country and on the road and I haven't twisted my ankle once! Which is rather exciting ahaha.Very happy with them, fit true to size and have been a pleasure to wear so far.My wife researched these as a present because I suffer with knee and foot pain. These not only look good but feel amazing. I would highly recommend.Just the wrong sizeGood supportive feel. A bit smaller than other Brrokes shoes I have had in the past, would consider buying half a size larger in future.Excellent running shoe, light, sturdy and cushioned. Great value
