EDIT 1/26/16. I cannot believe how quickly this went downhill. I loved this checkbook cover when it arrived. It has turned into nothing more than a great smelling piece of leather and I am forced yet again to downgrade its rating. This will be may last post. Since posting on 1/24/16, I have written (4) checks. All four checks have ripped when being tore from the checkbook. I had to rewrite them, but removed the checkbook from the cover, then ripped them out perfectly. The only explanation I can offer is there is too much tension when the checkbook is inside the cover on the binding that when you tear, it does not tear evenly. This has been a disappointment. I cannot recommend this product.EDIT 1/24/16. Originally I gave a rating of 4-stars. After using for about a week, I discovered that when using duplicate checks, the plastic protector between current check and next check, there is a bleed over to the the next carbon if you will. As in, you are writing out a check, with the plastic between the next new check and you flip to the next new check's "carbon" and discover the writing from the current check. Long story short, the plastic is not thick enough. This does not prevent writing an authentic, legal check, however, if you ever have need to review checks written by viewing the duplicates, you will find bleed over that will make it difficult, if not impossible to read.I really like the look, feel and even the smell (yes the smell of leather) of this checkbook cover. The reason it is not rated 5-stars is because once you try carrying a pen inside the cover, it is impossible to stay closed, and the cover top and bottom are misaligned - bulky. For this reason, I will carry a pen separately. Otherwise, I believe you will like this product if you use duplicate style checks.I bought this for a check book cover. I am glad I found this product. I plan on purchasing more from this company.This is a simple straightforward checkbook for the simpler of people. I enjoy the card sleeve attachment that comes with it (I store my lesser used cards here so they don't clutter up my wallet) The leather is of adequate thickness for a checkbook and the material appears to be a quality leather as it has shown no signs of wear as of yet.This is not only well made, but is also well designed. The material is very well cured and sewn. The design permits it to worn in the top pockets of short sleeved shirts along with a fountain pen. The design permits the storage of a check book as well as a record book and extra papers. A super product, you can't go wrong with this checkbook cover.This is very soft leather. I like the feel of it. The only thing that I think is missing is a place for my pen. I will have to buy a pen with a clip to slip it on the outside of the checkbook.The cover itself is very good quality and I recommend it. The carbon copy protection sheet is kind of flimsy and not aligned properly (scooted over to one side) but I can make it work.I just know this is going to last a lot longer than the ones that the banks give you for free. Very soft leather and flexible. I gave one to my wife and one for me. Thank you. Wonderful.It's a little small for my checkbook. I removed the business card holder and it made some extra room. Quality and materials look good especially given the price. For a basic check book cover it is good. Would recommend.
